Online content providers are expected to witness a major challenge, as the US based Apple Incorporation has introduced its interactive textbooks application for the iPad — iBooks2. The iBooks application will contain dynamic and interactive textbooks having animations, pictures, videos and diagrams.
The iBooks2 application is free for download at Apple’s App Store, and will have educational content from companies such as McGraw-Hill and Pearson. Apple will be leveraging the high sale of its iPads to sell its application to the students. The company has also launched another application — iTunes U —which help students access free educational content and applications from across the globe.
